West Wittering Beach
West Wittering Beach is a gently-sloping, sandy beach, perfect for sunbathing, paddling and more energetic pastimes such as surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Backed by sand dunes and a pretty row of beach huts, the beach looks south to the Solent and the Isle of Wight and north to the South Downs.
It's a great place for walking: westward takes you to East Head (a fragile and constantly shifting sand spit now managed by the National Trust) and then round into Chichester Harbour; eastward takes you to the shingle beach at Bracklesham with views of Selsey in the distance.
