|The Witterings - we love 'em||
The Environment Agency have lifted their flood warnings in place relating to the coast at West Wittering and surrounding areas.
Friday night's storm has ripped through the sea wall in dozens of places and created deep holes in the coastal path.
Just 5 days after I took the first photo (see blog below) of the beach steps at the end of Jolliffe Road, you can see that that the groynes closest to the steps have been ripped away by Friday night's storms.
The recent storms have changed the landscape of the beach.
In some areas the shingle has been stripped away, so for instance, the bottom of the beach steps at the end of Jolliffe Road used to be covered and are now fully exposed.
On the other hand, there is now masses of shingle directly in front of Shore Road in East Wittering, transported in by Chichester Council in order to improve the sea defences.
